Engagements

Four ways to work with us

Fees on this page are indicative. They assume a Singapore-based group, a mainstream accounting system and data that can be extracted without a forensic exercise. The written proposal is the document that governs price, dates and scope. Figures below are here so a first conversation can be specific.

Diagnostic sprint

2 weeks

Indicative from SGD 4,800

  • Interviews with finance and the operators who use the numbers
  • Walk-through of a recent close and the current pack
  • Systems and spreadsheet map across entities
  • Findings note with the late, the unreconciled and the unsupported
  • Data map you can keep
  • Prioritised build plan with indicative effort
  • A close-out call with the people who commissioned the work

Best for a board or owner who wants a written plan before commissioning a build.

Reporting build

6 to 10 weeks

Indicative from SGD 18,000

  • Pack contents, close calendar and named owners
  • Management pack template mapped to the ledger
  • 13-week cash file with a receipts method
  • One live month run and reconciled
  • Commentary method and a short review meeting
  • Handover file and a walkthrough
  • Optional dashboard of the same views

Best for a team that already knows the pack is late and wants the layer built, not only described.

Monthly

Indicative from SGD 3,900 / month

  • Monthly pack assembly against the agreed calendar
  • Weekly cash rebuild and a thirty-minute call
  • Quarterly reforecast in the same structure
  • Exception list for working capital and margin
  • A named point of contact at Smartdatafinance
  • Light model maintenance when a driver changes
  • Quarterly review of the calendar itself

Best for a finance team that wants the cycle run, with continuity, after the build.

Project work

Quoted per scope

Quoted per scope

  • Three-statement or scenario model
  • A dashboard and pipeline on an agreed stack
  • Chart-of-accounts and extract clean-up
  • Pricing or outlet-margin file
  • Board or investor pack aligned to the monthly file
  • Training programme for an in-house team
  • A written scope, fee and date before work starts

Best for a defined question that does not need a full reporting rebuild.

Price

What actually moves the fee

Entity count is the first driver. A single Singapore company on one ledger is a different piece of work from four entities, two currencies and a consolidation that still lives in a spreadsheet. Systems come next. A clean Xero file with scheduled extracts is faster than a mix of SAP Business One, three stock workbooks and a payroll export that changes shape each month.

Data quality is the third driver, and the one that surprises people. If customer and product keys cannot be joined, profitability work grows. If inter-company lines do not mirror, the pack grows. Cadence is the fourth: a weekly cash call and a monthly pack is the standard retainer; a fortnightly board pack or a multi-country close adds time. We would rather price the messy version in the proposal than discover it in week five.

Included

What every engagement contains

Documentation is not an extra. Every paid engagement includes a data map, a written list of definitions, and refresh instructions for the files we touch. Builds include a handover file and a live walkthrough with the people who will operate the layer. Review calls are scheduled in the proposal so they are not a favour to be negotiated later. If we find that a view cannot be supported by the data, we write that down and we cut the view, rather than leave a silent hole in the pack.

You own the deliverables on payment, as the terms page sets out. We do not lock models behind a licence. We do not hold your warehouse after a handover unless a retainer says we operate the refresh.

Terms

Commercial terms in plain language

Retainers are invoiced monthly in arrears. Builds are invoiced 50 per cent on instruction and 50 per cent on delivery of the agreed artefacts, after the live month has been run. Project work follows the same 50/50 pattern unless the proposal says otherwise. Payment terms are 14 days. Work pauses if an invoice is overdue, after a written reminder.

The figures on this page are indicative. They are confirmed in a written proposal that names the entities, the systems, the cadence and the artefacts. If the diagnostic finds a larger data problem than the first call suggested, we re-quote the build before we start it. There is no success fee, no equity request and no software commission. We are independent of the vendors whose tools we work with.

Next step

Ask for a written proposal

Send a short note on your entities, systems and the decision the current pack cannot support. We will reply within one working day with times for a diagnostic call, or with a project outline if the request is already narrow.
